Richard came to my Brighton practice for an eft and matrix reimprinting session. He said that he had been diagnosed as having depression by a doctor and had been suffering from clinical depression for at least ten years.

I explained how eft worked and how it can help sufferers of depression because it works at an emotional level, where true healing takes place.

He was eager to try eft and quickly mastered the tapping points. He said that a recent phone call from a friend had sent him into a downward spiral of dark thoughts.

We used using eft tapping for the stress he felt about the phone call (at first, without actually going into the memory). He said that the other person had told him she didn't want to see him again. He felt a great sense of loss. I asked him if he felt that feeling anywhere in his body, he said in his heart.

I asked him if he'd felt this feeling before and he said that his brother's death had broke his heart. He still felt a great sadness and when we used eft tapping for the sadness he said he felt much better. He began to smile for the first time since he'd arrived.

I asked him to go back to the memory of the phone call and repeat what he had originally said. He told me what had happened, but this time without any emotion. He smiled again and said he could see the connection between the 'loss of a friend and the loss of his brother'.

As he left he thanked me and said that letting go of some of the sadness he felt about the loss of his brother had allowed him to see things differently.
