Depression Case Study

Depression - Maureen, Hove

05/04/09

Maureen came to my practice and said she wanted to work on the fact she had recurring nightmares and found it difficult to get out of bed in the morning.

She said that she was suffering from depression and felt sad. I asked her if she felt sad now and she said she did.

We began using EFT tapping for 'this sadness'. After one round of tapping she said she still felt the same. So we tapped again and this time she began to cry. She said she cried a lot when she was at home but never in front of others. She said that she felt embarrassed.

She said that she would like to tell me about a nightmare she kept having over and over again. We used a technique from EFT called The Movie Technique. As she explained her nightmare we tapped on areas where she felt emotion.

After going over the movie a few times until it was easy for her to recall what happened without a negative charge she said she felt a lot better and couldn't believe she could talk about it without emotion.

She said that she was really impressed by how well EFT had worked and was glad she had sought help for depression in the form of EFT.
