EFT for Depression

Depression is on the increase. In todays society such are the demands put on us that we sometimes feel we can't cope. Unchecked negative feelings such as hopelessness and despair can lead to clinical depression, which is the most common form of depression.

Depressed people often report feelings of exhaustion during the day. Depression needs this exhaustion to survive and along with anxiety keep the sufferer locked into a vicious depressive cycle.

Medication may give some short-term relief but does it address the real issue? A doctor may give a patient tablets for a recurring winter cold but the fact that the cold keeps coming back means there must be an underlying cause that hasn't been addressed.

Depression thrives when one or more of our basic human needs aren't met. It's important that as a depression sufferer you are getting the right help.

EFT - an effective treatment for depression

During an EFT depression session we will focus initially on the present moment - we won't go into the past. You will say exactly how you are feeling and we'll begin by getting rid of the negativity surrounding those feelings. By acknowledging and accepting instead of fighting and then tapping on the EFT energy points we can dissolve those negative feelings.

We want to establish some kind of hope, a little light of positivity. A different perspective and a place to begin....

Once you start to dissolve the negativity in the present moment by being really specific about how you feel you will slowly begin to feel better. This is because we are dealing with how you feel immediately as those feelings arise.

This is the first step on the way to recovery from depression. You will have as much support as you need along the way and take each step one at a time. This includes setting small achievable goals that have helped others with depression.

Depression takes many different forms and the following are case studies of my own clients who both came to me suffering from depression.
